Let's face facts, if you are reading this, you are experiencing big problems with your copy of PhotoImpact. You have probably been told that reinstalling PI is the only thing that can fix the problem. But doing that isn't a simple as it sounds. What works the best is called a "Clean Install", but what does that really mean? To do a "Clean Install" you need to restore your computer to the state it was in before you first installed PI. Sounds confusing, right? It is, but it's not too difficult to do, if you follow the steps below. DO NOT SKIP OVER ANY STEPS or it won't work. I suggest you print this out to refer to while doing the steps below.

Launch Windows Explorer and go to "Tools > Folder Options > View" to check "show hidden files and folders";
- Purge/delete all the files in these folders: "C:\Windows\Temp" "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp" (for WinXP);
- Go to "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems";
- Delete the folder for "PhotoImpact 10";
- Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact";
- Delete the "10.0" folder;
- Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact";
- Delete the "10.0" folder;
- Go to "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information";
- Delete the folder "{FE58B892-3825-4610-A6A2-E6EFCA83BD97}";
- Go to Start-->Run;
- Type "regedit";
- Go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact";
- Delete the folder "10.0";
- Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Ulead PhotoImpact";
- Delete the folder "10.0";
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Uninstall;
- Locate the identity enclosed in curly brackets that corresponds to Ulead PhotoImpact 10 {FE58B892-3825-4610-A6A2-E6EFCA83BD97;
- Delete this entry;
- Close "Regedit";
- Restart Windows;
- Reinstall PhotoImpact.
Notes:
Be sure to logon as Administrator before installing your software to avoid restrictions.
Before installing, you must temporarily close other running programs or applications including antivirus, Norton utilities, screensaver, other memory resident programs including Internet connection, etc. to avoid unnecessary conflict and restrictions within your system.
